SHORT BIO:
MYRANDAS is a Latin urban band based in LA. The project originated in Havana and was founded by trilingual singer Kristina Miranda and musician/Grammy Award-winning engineer Marciel Miranda. Initially recognized as a rock project, MYRANDAS transitioned to a new musical direction in 2022, incorporating Caribbean influences into their songs. The current lineup includes Cuban-Puerto Rican percussionist Richard Herrera and violist of Jamaican descent Jeremy Jones.
The band blends Latin grooves, pop, and electronic music elements, offering a fresh perspective on the urbano genre. Drawing inspiration from artists like Rosalía and Bomba Estéreo, MYRANDAS unveiled their new sound at NextFest LA 2022.
Throughout 2023-2024, MYRANDAS released a series of singles and received support globally from publications such as LA Times, Remezcla, Hola! USA. At the beginning of 2024, their song "Cuéntale" became one of the standout tracks in the telenovela Viceversa, which aired on Cuban television for five months. In April, the band presented this track and their single, "Con Una Flor," at the Latin Alternative Music Conference (LAMC) virtual showcase, further solidifying their presence in the Latin music scene.
MYRANDAS released their debut Spanish EP, Nos Dejamos Llevar, which received a great response from listeners in May. The song "Cuando Te Vi" was recognized as the Best Latin Alternative Track of the Day on The SoCal Sound 88.5 FM. Highlights of 2024 include MYRANDAS being joined on stage by artists such as Wil-Dog Abers (Ozomatli) and DJ Ethos. The band also showcased their evolving sound at the Unidos en la Música Festival (opening for Fonseca) and NextFest LA.
